St Andrews Aquarium
The St Andrews Aquarium is a great favourite with the children. With over 30 different displays there is a variety of marine life to see. There are touch pools, where the children can touch and pick-up the exhibits to get a closer look at the crabs and starfish. Special features and brilliant technology bring you closer to the stunning under water world which covers such a great part of this planet.
The seahorse is most enchanting and beautiful creature, you can see them and learn about the captive breeding program that will hopefully re-introduce these rare animals back into British waters. The centre has a rescue, rehabilitation and release program for many of the marine life in the surrounding waters.
Seals are one of the many animals that are to be found off the East Neuk coast. The best place to find them is around the May Isle. Any seal stranded on the beach or caught in fishing nets are brought here until they are strong enough to be released back into the sea. You can see the seals being fed and hear about the seals lives from
the attendants. This takes part at different times throughout the day but you will be notified when these times are, as well as other talks and demonstrations.
Open daily from 10am in summer season, for winter times please call the centre.
Organised groups of 10 or more qualify for special discounts and schools are welcomed at special rates The centre is also available for private hire for parties. Food is supplied by the restaurant and hats balloons and quiz sheets are all included.
